Our editorial standards

Every article we publish is expected to meet three tests: it must be evidence-based, it must be argued in good faith, and it must be written for readers who value nuance.

Sourcing and attribution

When we report on stories first published elsewhere, we display only an original summary paragraph, credit the original publication clearly, and link readers back to the original story. We do not reproduce third-party articles in full.

Corrections

We correct errors of fact promptly and publicly. Editorial disagreement with a correction is welcome — but errors are not negotiable.
