Intellectual Janata Party (IJP) is an independent civic and political movement dedicated to informed citizenship, constitutional values and evidence-based public discourse. Views in opinion pieces belong to their authors.
India will be well served by citizens who read widely, think clearly, and argue civilly. That is our entire programme.
What we are
The Intellectual Janata Party (IJP) is a civic philosophy movement — an independent community of readers, thinkers, students, professionals and public servants who believe India's democratic future depends on the quality of its public argument. We publish curated India-focused political and public-affairs news, we surface original policy summaries, and we build spaces for reasoned civic dialogue.
What we are not
IJP is not a political party. We contest no elections, endorse no candidates, take no donations from parties or campaigns, and align with no electoral formation — past, present or future. The word Party in our name refers to a community of shared conviction, in the older republican sense of "the party of reformers" or "the party of moderation" — not to an electoral vehicle. We support good ideas regardless of which party proposes them, and we criticise poor ones on the same principle.
Why this movement, why now
Indian public discourse has never been louder — and never lonelier for the reader who wants evidence before emotion. Between viral outrage and partisan certainty, the citizen who wishes to think for themselves has fewer and fewer places to stand. IJP exists to hold that ground: a calm, plural, India-first vantage on the institutions that shape our republic — Parliament, the courts, the executive, the market, the states, and the citizen.

Ideas Above Ideologies
We evaluate policy on its merits and its consequences, not on the flag it flies. Left, right or centre — the argument must survive the evidence.
Nation Above Politics
India comes first. Party fortunes, personal ambition and factional loyalty come a distant second. Every desk answers to that hierarchy.
Evidence Before Emotion
Data, documents and dissent — in that order. We slow down when everyone else speeds up, and we publish only what we can defend.
What we publish
- India-focused news curation — Parliament, the Supreme Court & High Courts, the Union Executive, state governments, the Reserve Bank, NITI Aayog, the Election Commission and India's foreign posture.
- Original summaries of every dispatch — so readers can grasp what happened, who is involved, and why it matters, in under two minutes.
- Direct links to trusted publishers — we do not paraphrase around a paywall or replace the primary source. Journalists get the click and the credit.
- Editorial analysis (forthcoming) — long-form, byline-driven policy writing on the constitution, the economy, national security and civilisational questions.
How you can participate
This is not a spectator movement. Read carefully; disagree in good faith; recommend a source we should be reading; subscribe to the weekly brief; volunteer time to the think-tank or the reader community; or simply send us a correction when we get something wrong. Every citizen who insists on being well-informed makes the next citizen's job easier.
